Evaluation of hydrogel use in the development of Rapanea ferruginea with water restriction by vibrational Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR-UATR)

This study evaluated the use of hydrogel on development Rapanea ferruginea under water restriction through Vibrational Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR-UATR). Seedlings approximately 30 cm height were transferred in pots with 3 L soil. The group seedlings was separated into 5 different triplicate treatments according to amount hydrogel, as follows: H1 (25%), H2 (20%), H3 (15%), H4 (10%) and S (control without hydrogel). applied mixed homogeneously All irrigated 40 mL water. FTIR spectra obtained from fresh leaves collected during 13 months monitoring. correlation hydroxyl (water) band main biomolecules between control using Mann-Whitney test (p<0.05). biomolecule bands subjected principal component analysis (PCA) hierarchical clustering (HCA). results indicate a significant lipid, hemicellulose, cell wall starch components species. resulted difference absorption relation HCA PCA suggested. best observed groups (10%), (20%) (15%). positively influences biomolecular monitoring is viable by FTIR.
